The landscapes of Oregon are well known for its coasts and mountains. I had a half day course in Portland, OR in the middle of May of 2013. I planned 8 days photo-trip after the class: Hood River Valley - Mount Hood (Government Camp) - Sisters - Bend - Crater Lake NP - Bandon - Newport - Cannon Beach.
I was once in Oregon in the winter of 1997 when I was still living in Southern California. I remember that the scariest thing in that trip for me was driving in highway in a dark early morning with heavy rain fall. It was just like an adventure. I really could not see much while I was driving. I knew this time that the worst challenge for the travel plan would be the weather.
As expected, there were only two days weather acceptable: in Hood River Valley and in Sisters. There even was a moderate amount with 2 - 3 inches snow when I was in Crater Lake NP. The Northern Entrance was closed. The same weather was also in my last three days in Oregon coasts.
